The Symposium Committee cordially invites you to attend and submit papers to the International Symposium on Physics and Applications of Laser Dynamics 2021 (IS-PALD 2021) to be held on November 16-18, 2021 in online conference via Zoom. IS-PALD intends to provide an opportunity to learn advances in physics and applications of laser dynamics through invited talks by renowned scholars and through contributed presentations by active researchers. Meanwhile, IS-PALD attempts to create an environment for extensive discussion and potential collaboration with researchers worldwide. For more information, please visit the IS-PALD website at http://ispald.web2.ncku.edu.tw.
The following areas of laser dynamics are covered in the Symposium:
Nonlinear Laser Dynamics. The topics include but are not limited to
- (1) Physics and engineering of nonlinear laser dynamics, including stability, bistability, periodic and aperiodic dynamics, and chaos
- (2) Generation, measurement, shaping, and processing of microwave waveforms based on nonlinear laser dynamics
- (3) Applications of nonlinear laser dynamics and their waveforms randomness generation
- (4) Characterization, control, and synchronization of nonlinear laser dynamics
Ultrafast Laser Dynamics. The topics include but are not limited to
- (1) Physics and engineering of ultra-short and/or high-energy pulsed lasers
- (2) Generation, shaping, and processing of ultra-short and/or high-energy laser pulses
- (3) Detection and characterization of ultra-short and/or high-energy laser pulses
- (4) Applications of ultra-short and/or high-energy laser pulse
Applications of Laser Dynamics. The topics include but are not limited to
- (1) Reservoir computing and neuromorphic computing
- (2) Photonic technologies for artificial intelligence and machine learning
- (3) Random number generation and security applications
- (4) Photonic integrated circuits and silicon photonics for applications of laser dynamics
Authors should submit their papers by 24 September, 2021. All papers will be peer reviewed by the Symposium Committee, which reserves the right to accept or reject any submitted paper. Notification of paper acceptance will be sent by 15 October, 2021. Papers will be presented in oral or poster sessions according to the decision made by the Symposium Committee.
Students are encouraged to submit their works to IS-PALD 2021. All student submission will be nominated as candidates of Best Student Paper Award. The final awardees will be celebrated at the end of the conference.
No registration fee is charged for all speakers and participants. However, registration is required to attend the online conference before November 5, 2021.
To overcome the time difference around the world, the conference will take place from 2 pm to 8 pm in Japan Standard Time (GMT +09:00), corresponding to 5 am to 11 am in United Kingdom (GMT +00:00). Speakers will be assigned in the conference program under consideration of their time zone.
